White Spirits as Roller Wash

White Spirits as Roller Wash

During an online exchange with a Printer from the United Kingdom I was asked what I thought of the use of ‘White Spirits’ as a roller wash?

Being unfamiliar with the term white spirits I asked and was told that White Spirits is a petroleum solvent used by Painters to thin and remove paint, and its’ use as a press wash by Printers in the UK is quite common, and its cost is considerably less than branded roller wash.

As a result, I tryed it and found it cleans quite well as a step one wash, and blends well with a ‘Fast Dry’ wash to become a good alternative for a roller and blanket wash.

Printers in the US will find that Ace hardware Stores sell Paint Thinner for less that $4.00 per gallon.
