Slim blankets are cut under-width (narrower) to all eliminate extraious ink build-up beyond sheet contact area and eliminate all paper contamination on blanket from sheet side edges.
If you use dry toned laser plates, using Slim Blankets eliminates ink build-up from toner-splatter beyond sides of copy.
Slim Blankets reduce calcium contamination in dampner and fountain tray, inking system 70% because paper contamination typically released on wider blankets stays on sheets and cannot contaminate press!
And, when printing on Carbonless (NCR) papers, Slim Blankets eliminate sizing, slitter dust, and chemical build-up on blanket beyond sides of copy.
